Description
Alluva is a term given by Deraniyagala for what he calls the "side plates" on a kasthāné. What is probably meant are the two langets that protrude from the hilt and ensure a tight fit in the scabbard.
Notice the triangular langets on the Sinhalese kasthāné, ensuring a tight fit in its scabbard.
