Description

Francis Delacour was a notable fourbisseur or cutler with a workshop in Paris. Active from around 1830 to 1870. The company was supplying weapons to the Imperial Guard and a considerable amount of the workshop's output, an estimated 60% of the shop's output, was intended for export.

In November 1854 he earned the distinction Fournisseur Breveté de Sa Majesté L'Emperor or "Patented Supplier for His Highness the Emperor". He was the exclusive supplier for some models of swords for the imperial guard.

Etched maker's mark on a French pipe-back saber for the Thai market.
