Shuāngjiàn (雙劍) literally means "double jian". It is generally used to describe two jiàn with half hilts that fit in a single scabbard side-by-side.

Shuangjian Chinese double sword

A fine pair of Daoist shuāngjiàn.
Sold by Mandarin Mansion in 2021.

Among antiques, most shuāngjiàn are of the short variety. Quality varies a lot, from superb pieces with substantial blades and good quality mounts to tourist grade curios with unhardened blades and indifferent workmanship, and everything in between.
