Description

A Persian spearhead, called neyze (نیزه ) in that language.

It has a long slender blade with two sunken areas split by a raised rib, a secondary bevel leads to the edge. The blade is made of a fine Persian wootz that shows itself in shades of dark grey and silver.

The blade is held between two langets, engraved on either side with a bird.

The socket consists of three sections with each 8 facets, each slightly offset to the preceding. It is engraved with floral decoration and rows of tulips. Some remains of gold on the socket.

The socket is nearly identical to another Persian spearhead listed here at the moment and quite possibly originates from the same workshop.
