Description

Kothi (कोथि) is the Nepali word for the silver chape on the scabbard of a khukurī.¹

Such khukurī are also called kothimora khukurī and were often presentation pieces, awarded to Ghurkas for special merit. The kothi is usually made entirely of silver and worked in repousse. Sometimes sections of it were parcel gilt.
